Janusz Stankiewicz – photographs. Epitaph and Wind

A catalogue accompanying Janusz Stankiewicz’s exhibition at BWA Awangarda Gallery Wrocław in 2005. For several years, the artist had been making Epitaph and Wind, a series portraits of Wrocław residents at the foot of the tower of St. Elizabeth’s Church, under the epitaph, and then under its frame – it had fallen off in the meantime and broke, leaving a different, illegible surface – in order to record the transience of the world.
