SIC! – a book about the SIC! Gellery BWA Wrocław

70,00

The book describes the activities of SIC! BWA Wrocław, the only public gallery in Poland dedicated to artistic, studio, and functional glass and ceramics. Since 2015, the gallery has been exploring glass and ceramics in historical, geopolitical, ecological, and social contexts, delving into themes such as transparency, fragility, and visibility.

We invited individuals involved in creating the gallery’s program—artists, curators, and professionals from Poland and abroad—to contribute to the book. Their responses to the editors’ questions reflect the aspirations, sensitivities, and concepts explored and presented in the SIC! gallery. In this way, we aimed to showcase the thematic diversity emerging from a place with a very specific and narrow profile, which presents works made only from two media—glass and ceramics—highlighting their complexity in ideological and formal contexts and their place in contemporary art.

The publication is similar to a poetry collection. It is small, non-chronological, and the included statements are brief and often emotional. Regardless of where you open it, you won’t lose its meaning and will feel the energy generated in SIC! over many years.
