Anna Krenz. Achtung! Achtung! postcards

“Achtung” is one of the first German words the artist learnt as a child – a foreign word derived from various pop culture sources such as Four Tank-Men and a Dog, a cult Polish TV series from the 1960s. Anna Krenz’s project confronts stereotypes and reluctance on both sides of the Oder. The artist juxtaposes these notions with her experience of Germany from the position of a Berlin resident and vice versa – she presents how Poles are perceived beyond the western border.
